The governor continued: “Based on the government’s recent decision to suspend the allocation of foreign exchange for importing mobile phones into the country, we are seeing problems that raise concern about the need for the market.
He said: “It was expected that with the government’s approval of implementing the registry plan and preventing the trafficking of this product into the country, and the numerous problems that had arisen in the implementation of the project, the exchange was expected to be traded to importers. The market does not face supply shortages.
The embassy noted the importance of using exchange trading in the process of importing mobile phones, since only five to 10 percent of the import of this product is legal and import is more costly and time-consuming than smuggling. In order to supply market goods, with a view to exchange trading, the level of import increased to some extent in order to provide incentives for importing companies to continue the route without worrying after the implementation of the registry plan.
